Scarce and very appealing Vale Postal Nacional (Model 3 V.P.), issued 26 July 1921 at the AgĂŞncia dos Correios de Santa CecĂlia, during the period of the RepĂşblica dos Estados Unidos do Brasil.
The money order transferred 90,000 réis, a substantial sum at the time. It was paid four days later, on 30 July 1921, as confirmed by the signed receipt on the reverse.
This complete domestic money order displays an attractive and well-balanced combination of:
100r orange and pair of 200r blue definitive postage stamps, crisply tied by clear “S. CecĂlia – 26 JUL 1921” circular date stamps.
5,000 and 10,000 vertical “Imposto do Selo” revenue adhesives, properly applied in the deposit area and validated by a bold purple “Thesouraria” (Treasury) handstamp.
The Reverse bears signed acknowledgment dated 30 July 1921, confirming payment within four days — a desirable full and intact example with both sides preserved.
A particularly desirable compound postal–fiscal document, illustrating the interaction of Brazil’s postal and treasury systems in the Réis currency era. Clean strikes, multiple adhesives, and complete documentation make this an excellent addition to: Postal History collections, Revenue stamp exhibits. Money order / financial postal studies. & Advanced Réis-period holdings.
An attractive and scarce crossover item seldom encountered in this complete and well-tied condition.
